Kisa sent me a link today. Said it was my day for my kind. My Day. A day for Lefties. A day dedicated to 10% of the population…those being not right handed. Imagine that! Needless to say I automatically joined the club and then immediately questioned my qualifications. Even felt a little guilty about printing out the certificate…(but it’s a pretty certificate).
I’m not entirely all right brained. This dominate right hand world has taught me a little something about compromise. Think about it. Try using a computer mouse in your left hand. Try holding a pair of scissors upside down. It’s a little screwy. So, I adapted. Here’s more: I throw a ball equally as bad with my left as with my right. I play golf right handed. I zest lemon rind with my right. Nutmeg, too. Peel potatoes righty. Even pick my nose with the right. So, am I right to belong to a left-handed club? Hmmmm….

It’s all RIGHT to be a LEFTy with RIGHT-handed tendencies. I play minesweeper and solitaire best with the mouse in my LEFT hand and I am a RIGHTy. And even a RIGHTy can have trouble with scissors.
Think about it this way- those musicians you admire so much use both their RIGHT and LEFT hands! You don’t care if they throw with their RIGHT or LEFT. You don’t care whether they zest RIGHT-handed or LEFT-handed. As long as they beat those drums, strum those strings, and sing their souls out, you could care less if they are RIGHTies or LEFTies.

My wife tells me she is ambidigitous – she can flip me the bird with either hand (or both at the same time depending on how much I deserve it).

I imagien very few people are all righty or all lefty. I’m mostly a righty, but I cartwheel to the left … so when the next cartwheel emergency arises – be sure to not me on my left or I’ll ‘wheel right over you 🙂
